BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU KIDS PROGRAM
District Martial Arts are proud to have an established kids’ and youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program. Self-defense, discipline, and respect are just a few of the characteristics your children will learn at our dojo and from our instructors. We want to provide an environment that’s safe, comfortable, yet challenging. Our children are spending excessive amounts of time in front of digital screens. This program allows your kids to experience a screen-free activity beneficial to their physical and mental health! Not only will Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu build characteristics like confidence, strength, and healthy relationships, it can also teach perseverance and self-control. It has the power to positively transcend past the mats into your children’s values at home or at school.
BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU
One of the most effective self-defense and grappling arts, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu technique allows for the trained person to have complete dominance over an opponent, regardless of the size difference. Made famous by the Gracie lineage, Brazilian jiu Jitsu is the back bone of all self-defense and martial arts. When it comes to BJJ in Arlington, we have the best there is to offer.
MUAY THAI
Muay Thai is the official combat sport of Thailand, and focuses on all of the skills used in western boxing and kick boxing, but with the heavy focus on elbows, knees, and the clinch. Muay Thai is a striking art that encompasses every single limb as a weapon and can be seen everywhere from Mixed Martial Arts to self-defense training.
WRESTLING
If Brazilian Jiu Jitsu focuses on being on the ground and Muay Thai focuses on staying on your feet, then Wrestling can be considered the transition between the two. An overlooked martial art, becoming adept at wrestling will allow you to dictate where the fight takes place. Wrestling is an art that many practice from an early age, and despite no professional league, it is competed in both Colleges and the Olympics and will provide you an advantage in any combat situation.
BOXING (USA Boxing Certified)
Boxing is one of the most popular self-defense trainings as well as a very efficient form of exercise. While boxing primarily teaches you how to punch properly, it also creates a high level of aerobic conditioning, as well as a fluidity of movement not seen in other combat sports. Boxing is a great way to understand distance, as well as the importance of positioning and balance!
MIXED MARTIAL ARTS
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a combat sport that involves a high level of proficiency from each individual martial art, specifically boxing, wrestling, Brazilian jiu jitsu and Muay Thai. In its creation, MMA was a challenge to see which martial art was the best and most effect against one another. As the sport progressed and evolved, MMA has now become the premier form of self-defense and combat sports exercise. Popularized by the Ultimate Fighting Championship, MMA practitioners have become experts at multiple individual arts, becoming prepared for any situation.
WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
District Martial Arts has an amazing group of people who consistently train together, are great martial artists and care about the quality of instruction, training and taking their students through the martial arts journey. I recommend this school if you want to train REAL self-defense Brazilian jiu-jitsu!
I love coming to open mat here on Saturdays. I am new to jiu jitsu and they have been extremely welcoming. Great community. Great people.
Excellent instructors. Cater to every students’ needs. Big on safety and warm-ups, decreasing risk of injury. This place is perfect if you want to do full-contact fighting, or just train for weight-loss and endurance. Definitely the best place around.
I visited DMA for my first introductory class. I have experience with grappling martial arts, but this was a muay thai class. The environment there is awesome. Everyone is serious about learning and pushing themselves, but nobody takes themselves too seriously to enjoy each other.
I came into District Martial Arts not knowing a thing about boxing! Not only was I met by friendly faces, but the boxing coaches made me feel extremely welcomed. In just a few weeks my self defense skills improved, I found major stress relief in going to my weekly classes, and my self confidence excitingly increased! If you want to feel like a badass woman, DMA is the place for you!
